The Short Version

freedivingbase uses privacy-conscious measurement to understand whether its school directory is useful. We do not use advertising cookies or sell visitor data.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across websites. It provides us with aggregate statistics like page views and referral sources, without identifying individual visitors. Plausible is fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR.

On school and destination pages, we also increment capped daily first-party counters for page views, clicks to school profiles or websites, and broad referrer categories such as search or social. We do not retain visitor-level events, IP addresses, device fingerprints, full referrer URLs, account IDs, or form contents in this analytics report. Daily counters older than 400 days are deleted.

Accounts and enquiries

If you create an account, claim a school, subscribe to our newsletter, apply for a role, or send a school enquiry, we collect the details needed to provide that service. Enquiry details are handled separately from the aggregate analytics described above.

freedivingbase links to external websites, including freediving school websites and booking platforms. When you click one of these links, you leave our site and are subject to the privacy policy of the destination website. We have no control over the content or privacy practices of these external sites.

Images

Images on this site are served from our CDN at images.freedivingbase.com. This is a standard content delivery network used to load images efficiently. No tracking or personal data collection occurs through image delivery.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever make changes to this policy, we will update this page. Given the simple nature of this site, we don't anticipate significant changes.
