Overview
Based in Radazul marina, 15km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Apnea Canarias is one of Europe's most established freediving schools, operating since 2008. Led by world-class instructors including AIDA World Runner-up Miguel Lozano (PB: -122m FIM), Santiago Jakas (Spanish Static Record 2008–2010, AIDA Judge), and Omar Mourad Mazzarino (AIDA/Molchanovs/SSI Instructor Trainer, Vertical Blue safety team 2021 and 2023), the school offers AIDA and SSI courses from Discovery to Instructor level, specialist clinics in Frenzel and mouth-fill equalization, discipline-specific courses for surfers, no-fins, and spearfishing (with Omar Mourad), and an AIDA International safety course. Training takes place in Radazul Bay with permanent shore lines to 60m, boat access to 160m, and access to El Peñon — a sunken wreck at 20–30m, 5 minutes from the centre. Twice-yearly Depth Camps with Miguel Lozano (May and November). The school also operates a second centre in Lanzarote.
