Overview
About Freediving Tenerife
Based at the natural rock pool of Tabaiba Baja, Tenerife, Freediving Tenerife is a one-instructor AIDA school run by Tristan — an AIDA Instructor Trainer from Brittany who turned a lifelong passion for freediving into his profession after years with a medical NGO. Sessions are capped at three students per buoy for genuinely individual coaching. The school offers AIDA certification from Discovery to AIDA 4, private one-to-one sessions, a one-month Master Program, and online Frenzel and mouth-fill equalization video calls.
Highly personalised coaching built on breathing mechanics, mental control, and safe progression. Every session integrates dry breathing and equalization drills with open-water practice. Maximum three students per buoy. Private 1:1 diagnostic sessions and online Frenzel/mouth-fill video calls available. AIDA 2 can be taken directly without prior AIDA 1.
Whether you are looking to discover apnea for the first time or earn a recognised freediving certification in Tenerife, Freediving Tenerife provides a structured path. The school accepts both first-time freedivers and experienced divers pursuing deeper progression. Instruction is available in English, French, and Spanish.

Training sites and conditions in Tenerife
Training takes place at the Piscina Natural de Tabaiba Baja, a natural coastal pool on the east side of Tenerife that provides sheltered, calm water with direct access to open-sea depth just a few fin kicks from shore. Visibility averages at least 20 metres year-round. Tenerife's subtropical climate means conditions remain stable and the water stays warm enough to freedive on every day of the year — rare even by Canary Islands standards.
