Overview
About Freediving Amed
Freediving Amed is a Molchanovs-certified freediving school located directly on the beachfront in Amed, northeast Bali, offering courses and training from complete beginner to instructor level. Learn freediving and apnea in one of Bali's premier dive destinations — Amed's calm, clear waters and coral reefs provide exceptional conditions year-round. The school follows the Molchanovs Wave system: Wave 1 (beginner, 2 days), Wave 2 (intermediate, 4 days), and Wave 3 (advanced, 7 days, up to 40m depth — a semi-professional certificate qualifying graduates to act as assistant instructors). A personalised Master Program (minimum 4 weeks, Wave 2 required) is available for serious freedivers, alongside an Instructor Course. All courses are taught in small groups with a strict maximum of 3 students per instructor, with video feedback included in every session to help students review and refine their technique. Yoga classes (breathwork, pranayama, thoracic mobility) complement the freediving programme, and the school also runs all-inclusive freediving retreats in Sulawesi.
Molchanovs Wave system taught in small groups (max 3:1 ratio) with personalised coaching, video review after every session, and integrated yoga and breathwork to support freediving progression.
Whether you are looking to discover apnea for the first time or earn a recognised freediving certification in Bali, Freediving Amed provides a structured path. The school accepts both first-time freedivers and experienced divers pursuing deeper progression. Instruction is available in English.

What recent students say about Freediving Amed
Had a great time doing the course with Mayo instructor 🥹 she is soooo nice of you know there is a sandwich approach where you say something nice then smoothing that might upset a person. During the course she was like yeah that’s nice that’s nice and that’s nice only …. And at the end what I dah to improve the only downside was that the shop did not have the fins of my size 😭😭😭 and I had to endure pain during one session. Still passed on the first try 👀 if you don’t have 35 size you are fine 👀
Great staff and amazing experience. Special thank you to my instructor, Mayo.
